Safe Arrival:
Call 1-833-582-6940 OR https://sishrsb.ednet.ns.ca/public

First day of School:
All classes have assigned entry/exit doors for arriving and departing school for ease of entry with such a large number of students.  The assigned doors as well as a map of the school is attached.

We strongly suggest for parents to have their child come to school on the first day in the manner they will continue for the year so as to start with the routine right from day one.

Rainy Day Dismissals:
On rainy days where students cannot stand outside waiting for the bus, all walking students will be dismissed from their assigned doors with the bus students waiting in the gym for their bus to arrive.

Allergies:
We strive to be a peanut/nut and scent aware school. It is imperative that nuts and not brought into our school as numerous students and staff have life threatening allergies.  We appreciate your support in assisting to keep our learners and staff healthy and safe.

Toys and Electronics:
Students are requested to leave toys and electronics at home.  If it’s not a tool for learning, students are strongly encouraged to leave it at home.  We understand that many students may have cell phones with them to check in with parents once at school or after school.  We ask that once at school they remain in the students’ backpack and turned off.  Any important messages that students need to receive should be called in to the office.

Picking Students up early:
If you are picking your child up early for an appointment, we would appreciate you doing so before 2:00pm. After 2:00pm we are starting to get class instruction complete and prepare for dismissal. We do not like interrupting classes, and it can be difficult to reach classes that are already in the hallway getting packed and dressed to go home. Your help with this would be greatly appreciated.
Drop and Go:
When using the drop and go, please pull your car up as far as possible.  Stop, please do not get out of your car - staff will assist in helping your children get out if they cannot on their own. This area is not meant for parents to get out and assist as it holds the traffic up. We know how difficult the parking and drop off situation is, and we thank you for working with us to try and make this run as smooth as possible.

The church across from the school is also available for parents who want to park and walk their children to their entry doors.

Cafeteria:
Our school has a cafeteria that is run by Chartwell’s. We use Nutrislice for ordering school lunches: https://sackvilleheightses-ns-hrce.nutrislice.com/m/
All online orders must be submitted by 7:30am.  Students can order the day of by coming directly into the cafeteria when they arrive to place their order.
The cafeteria also has recess snacks for purchase.  We ask that students come to school with a limited amount of money.

We are off to a great start to a magnificent year!
